Featured Camp of the Month – Sweeney Todd: School Edition
Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd! Our Premiere Performers are back again this summer with another four weeks of epic musical theatre. Following last summer’s inaugural 4-week musical theatre camp for dedicated middle and high school students, we’re doing it again this year with Stephen Sondheim’s tale of suspense, revenge, and redemption: Sweeney Todd. In this infamous tale, the unjustly exiled barber Sweeney Todd returns to nineteenth-century London seeking vengeance against the corrupt judge who stole his world from him. The road to revenge leads him to a pie shop run by cunning proprietress Mrs. Lovett, who quickly encourages Todd down a path of intrigue, murder, and some meat pies with a surprise ingredient. Adapted specifically for students, the School Edition retains the humor and scope of the original work, which lyric and key changes to more appropriately facilitate student productions.
