As our Spring session onsite at DLC and offsite in local schools comes to a close, we’ve been reflecting on what a great season we have had here at Drama Learning Center. We strive to provide a safe, nurturing, and creative environment for students to learn teamwork, develop self-confidence, and practice self-expression through the art of drama. We take every piece of feedback we receive throughout the year to heart. Here are just a few of the comments we have received over the past few weeks, reposted with permission.
- “I just wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the directing job that Ms. Megan did at Glenwood Middle School this Spring with Shrek. Megan was always a consummate professional and was quick to respond to an email or question and had great communication with parents. As for her rapport with the students, it was amazing. She made the kids feel at ease even through the stress of tech week and nerves. I have had the pleasure of working with Megan a few years ago at Bushy Park and she has only grown into a more dedicated and phenomenal director. My daughter, Madison, came home after every rehearsal raving over Megan and how much she learned, which is more than I could have asked for from this experience. I just wanted to let you all know that we loved having her here and hope to have Megan again next year. Thanks for all that you did for our kids and for making the show the success that it was.” –Carrie R., Glenwood MS Parent
- “[I just wanted] to tell you how much Evan enjoyed being a part of the play. Thank you for all that you both did to make it such a great experience for him! We will definitely be back. You guys did an awesome job!” –A Wednesday Elementary/Middle Musical Theatre Parent
- “What a truly wonderful show you directed with your Tuesday class of Beauty and the Beast. It exceeded any expectation that we had and we were thrilled to be able to watch both shows go so well! It was so much fun and [my daughter] had the time of her life. She was sad, like so many others, that it was over. That’s such a testament to your hard work and care! My simple and heartfelt thank you seems very insufficient but I wanted to send you the email to let you know how grateful we are that our daughter got to perform in such a well run and professional production!” –A Tuesday Elementary/Middle Musical Theatre Parent
- “I wanted to take a moment to write to let you know how incredibly pleased I was with [Ms. Sarah Luckadoo] as my daughter’s director in the Little Mermaid production at TRES. Sarah was well-organized and friendly from the very beginning and she made my daughter’s (and my) first drama experience wonderful! I was a bit worried about the intensity of the schedule since my daughter is just in first grade, but after every practice, she came hom excited and looked forward to the next week. I don’t know how Sarah and her team managed to keep over 30 kids’ interest peaked and engaged each week, but whatever they did worked great! I especially loved Sarah’s communication of all of the program and show details throughout these past few months– I never had any questions or concerns as to what to expect. Most importantly, I found Sarah to be warm and engaging – not just to our children who loved her, but she also made mas a parent feel comfortable and welcoming. I truly believe that kids’ future interests in programs such as these are so dependent on who leads and teaches them and I think that Sarah did a phenomenal job in fostering a love for drama for my daughter.” –Jennifer K., Triadelphia Ridge ES Parent
