Camp of the Month – April

The race to Summer is officially upon us, and our Summer Drama Camps are filling quickly. Did you know that Drama Learning Center is one of the only camp providers in the area that holds programs for the entire Howard County Public School System Summer Break? Regardless of your family’s summer plans, we’re open and available when you need us!

This April, the spotlight shines on…

Frozen Adventures! This camp for students in Grades K-5 meets July 2-6 (no camp on July 4th). If you need to escape the heat, all your favorite residents of Arendelle are excited to take you on an adventure. Join us for this fun week of camp learning about your favorite characters and singing their songs. Related crafts and activities will enhance the session, and a final showcase will conclude the week. This camp is usually $265, but when you register this month and use the code COTM418, you’ll get $25 off!

We hope to see you this Summer for Frozen Adventures. Learn more about the rest of our Summer Drama Camps and register while you still can!

Upcoming Facility Tours

Have you been following DLC for awhile but never had the chance to actually come inside and see what we do? We’re offering Facility Tours and Sample Classes this Spring!

If you would like to get a taste for what class or camp feels like before you sign up, come join us on Saturday, April 28th or Saturday, May 19th to get a tour of our rehearsal and theatre spaces, meet teaching artists, and be led in a drama activity. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, and to register on site for an upcoming program if you haven’t already. And if you HAVE already signed up for class or camp, this is a great chance to come and see the space before your program begins!

These tours and sample classes are free and open to the public. All we ask for is an RSVP so that we know to expect you! Get started by filling out the form below. We look forward to seeing you soon at DLC!

Snow Day Special

You can always count on Maryland weather to be… a little unpredictable. So, in prime Maryland weather fashion, it appears that most of us are holed up at home watching the snow come down. Since you have some time at home, we decided to do a little flash sale and offer some….

SNOW DAY SPECIALS! It’s not too late to get involved in Spring drama at DLC. We’re going to have a blast this Spring with Madagascar – a Musical Adventure. Many classes (are supposed to) start this week. You haven’t missed your chance, though! Register for a Spring Production or Beginning Acting Class today only using code WAIVELATE and we’ll waive the late registration fee.

Wondering what Madagascar is even about? Check out one of our recent blog posts detailing the story to get a taste of what’s in store.

Programming Change: Spring Break

Like many of you, we’re ready for Spring! Unfortunately, this Winter is impacting everyone’s Spring Break plans, including our previously scheduled Spring Break Camp. Due to Howard County’s recent announcement that April 4-6 will now be used as inclement weather make up dates, we are making the following adjustments to our camp week:

March 30, April 2 & 3

These days will now be Superhero-themed School’s Out Workshops. Register for one, or all 3! Each date will feature a different topic with a Superhero theme. Students will create their own Superhero persona and participate in scenes and songs. In addition to drama activities, each day will also include arts & crafts, games, movies, and fun!

April 4-6

Drop-in Drama Workshops with pre-registration for those who still need enrichment on those days. Themes for these days will be fluid and cater to the specific interests of registered students.

All students previously registered for Spring Break Camp have been notified. If you would like to register for any of these new programs in the adjusted format, call us at (410) 849-6335 to get started!

Time: 9 am – 4 pm (extended care available from 7 am – 6 pm)
